Poor Rich Ones
Poor Rich Ones was a pop and rock band from Bergen, Norway, comprised of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Willy Marhaug who now has a solo career under the name William Hut, keyboardist Bjørn Bunes, bassist Tor Sørensen, guitarists Eivind Kvamme and Espen Mellingen, and drummer Bjarte Ludvigsen.
Poor Rich Ones was formed in 1994, and released their debut album Naivety's Star in 1996 on the local label Rec 90. Q magazine described their style as "infinitely sad and nocturnal, yet uplifting rather than depressing", calling the band "Norway's own Radiohead".
Other Albums they have released are From the Makers of Ozium (1997), Happy Happy Happy (2000), Joe Maynard's Favorites (2003). The latter is sort of a "best of" album and a version with bonus demos and such was also released. A few EPs have been released. Bubble Bowling (1997) and Besteborgere (soundtrack) (1999).
Although they have not broken up officially, the band's homepage states they have "no future plans". Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
